[Montreat College: Alumni-Update] New Vice President and Associate Vice President Named

Ladies and Gentlemen: 
 
It is my pleasure to announce that David E. Walters is named Vice
President for Adult Programs and Special Services and Deborah Wright is
named Associate Vice President for Adult Programs and Special Services. 

 

The School of Professional and Adult Studies program began in 1994 and
has been an important part of Montreat College's growth over the past 11
years. The Adult Studies program will play an even greater role in the
future as a vital component of the new strategic plan. Along with
increased and very aggressive growth goals, Dave and Deborah will also
be responsible for auxiliary programs and services. They begin their new
duties on July 1, 2005.

 

Dave Walters is currently Assistant Professor of Business and Chair of
the Business and CIS Department. He came to the College in 1993 as the
Director of Admissions and then became Director of Student Success in
1995. Dave has taught in both the School of Arts and Sciences and the
School of Professional and Adult Studies. He has served the College in
many other capacities since his arrival. Dave and his wife Jamie were
college sweethearts at Montreat-Anderson College and graduated in 1969.
Dave and Jamie live in Marion, NC.

 

Deborah Wright is currently the Charlotte Regional Director for the
School of Professional and Adult Studies. She came to Montreat College
by way of IPD as one of the first enrollment representatives in 1994.
Deborah served in the marketing arena until 1998 when she left IPD and
became the Charlotte Campus Director for Montreat College. She has been
involved with the adult program in some capacity since its initial
start-up. This includes teaching in the program, which she has done
since 1996. Deborah has a 9-year-old daughter who sometimes shares an
office with her in Charlotte and has been known to run the campus in her
mother's absence. Deborah and Alexandria live in Charlotte.
